He has no plans to return to the Bears after his contract runs out in three games, closing a four-year career that began packed with promise but ends full of frustration.
Fantasy Analysis: Thomas will join another team in 2005 and could be a starter somewhere.
Source: Chicago Tribune ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Mitchell - OL, Carolina Panthers Tuesday, December 14, 6:42 AM EST
News Story: Coach John Fox was evasive yesterday when asked to deliver an update on center Jeff Mitchell, who hobbled off the field during Sunday's 20-7 victory over St. Louis at Bank of America Stadium - and then had to be transported to the locker via a golf cart.
After the game, Fox said only that Mitchell suffered a knee sprain.
It is believed that Mitchell underwent an MRI test on his left knee at Carolinas Medical Center yesterday, but neither Fox nor General Manager Marty Hurney would confirm that or offer any further information on Mitchell's injury.
Fantasy Analysis: At this point, Mitchell is questionable for this week's game. We should know more Wednesday.

Source: AP ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Arizona Cardinals Tuesday, December 14, 6:37 AM EST
News Story: The Cardinals will be without right tackle L.J. Shelton and linebacker Raynoch Thompson for at least their upcoming game against St. Louis.
Both Shelton, who might have torn left knee ligaments Sunday against San Francisco, and Thompson, who sprained his right shoulder in the same game, underwent magnetic resonance imaging tests Monday to determine the extent of the injuries.
Coach Dennis Green said Shelton’s status was unknown, other than he would miss a game.
Thompson said he expected to miss a game and then return for the final two games of the season. Shelton could miss the rest of the season, even if his ligaments aren’t torn.
Fantasy Analysis: The Cardinals will be without a starting offensive lineman and a starting linebacker. The loss of Shelton is a big blow to an already poor offense.
Source: Arizona Central ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sebastian Janikowski - K, Oakland Raiders Monday, December 13, 6:25 PM EST

According to the report, the extension will pay Janikowski about $10.5 million and includes $2.8 million in guaranteed money.
The 17th overall pick in 2000 out of Florida State, Janikowski's original contract with the Raiders was for eight years. But he had clauses that allowed him to void the contract, and he would have been eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in March.
Fantasy Analysis: The Raiders lock up Janikowski for five years.

News Story: Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is to have an MRI on his left hamstring this week, and his status for the final three games is unknown.
Urlacher sustained his third leg injury of the season in Sunday's 22-3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"We're going to see," coach Lovie Smith said Monday. "I think it will take care of itself, as how bad the hamstring injury is," Smith said. "If guys are healthy they are part of the team, and if not, you have to move on. We played without Brian quite a few games this year, so it's not like a shock to our system."
Smith said Urlacher was hurt when he planted his leg and was hit.

Source: Fantasy Insights ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Tatum Bell - RB, Denver Broncos Monday, December 13, 5:09 PM EST
News Story: Broncos tailback Tatum Bell believes his shoulder injury isn't as bad as first thought and insists he could be available for next weekend's game against Kansas City.
Bell ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns Sunday after replacing Reuben Droughns, who fumbled twice early in Denver's 20-17 win over Miami. But the rookie second-round draft choice left in the third quarter after separating his shoulder, and Droughns returned to finish the game.
With the win, Denver improved to 8-5 and stayed tied with Baltimore for the AFC's final wildcard spot. After the game, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said Bell's injury was a third-degree shoulder separation, the worst kind possible.
Bell, however, said the shoulder wasn't feeling too bad Monday and considered himself day-to-day.
"That's my mind-set," he said. "Hopefully, I'll be to where I can put pads on and hopefully, I can take it."
Fantasy Analysis: This is good news for Bell and the Broncos. We will have to wait and see if how the shoulder does the rest of the week.
Source: AP ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Carson Palmer - QB, Cincinnati Bengals Monday, December 13, 5:09 PM EST
News Story: Tests found no serious damage in Carson Palmer's left knee Monday, but the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback was still on crutches and wearing a bulky brace.
Coach Marvin Lewis didn't rule out the possibility of Palmer playing Sunday against Buffalo. He put off the decision until midweek, listing Palmer as questionable for now.
"Let's wait and see what happens," Lewis said.
Fantasy Analysis: If Palmer's sprained knee isn't better, Jon Kitna will make his first start of the season. Kitna took over for Palmer during the third quarter of a 35-28 loss in New England and looked rusty on his first series of the season.
