In case you overlooked the "Download Now" button, or if you need to obtain the instructions again, go to the home page of the online mall and click on the Download button on the left side. You will then be able to read the instructions for all the products you have ordered. We use one team for special teams and defense. Can I set up the software to combine them? Or do I have to list them seperately and put the same team in for both? The software has a defensive team position, and a special teams position. However, if your league combines the two, you only need to place the defensive team on a fantasy team because you can set up the scoring on a defensive team to score defensive scores and special teams scores. Will the latest upgrade include all the enchancements/bug fixes of all the previous upgrades? Yes. Each upgrade contains the enchancements/bug fixes from all previous upgrades. So, if you do not install one on the upgrades, just install the latest upgrade and you will get the enchancements/bug fixes from the upgrade you missed. On the computer that you wish to transfer the database from, use the "Backup Database" option on the "Database Tools" menu to backup the league file to disk. How do I make sure I correctly installed the upgrade? Here are detailed instructions for making sure you installed the upgrade into the proper directory: 1) Make sure you know which directory you installed the original. To find out which directory you installed the original, do this: Right-click the Start button in windows and select "Open" from the menu. Double-click on the Program icon. Double-click on the First Place icon. Find the Fantasy Commissioner icon and right-click on it. Choose Properties from the menu. Click on the Shortcut tab. The original directory is what is listed in the target directory (i.e. If it shows c:\fstplace\commish\commish.exe, the original directory is c:\fstplace\commish\) 2) Run the upgrade installation program. When it prompts for "Select Destination Directory", make sure it shows the original directory (i.e. c:\fstplace\commish\). If it does not show the original directory, click the Browse button and choose the correct directory. 3) Once the upgrade it complete, run Fantasy Commissioner and click the "About" button on the main menu and make sure it shows the newest version. I can't find the 'Reg #' button to register the software. The "Reg #" button is available on the main menu of the software. To view this button, you must install the software and run it. You will then be presented with a screen that allows you to create a new league database. Hit the "New" button on this screen and create a new league database. Then select this new league database and hit the "Select" button. You will then see the main menu of the software which will have the "Reg #" button on the left side. I typed in the registration number, but it says it is an invalid registration number. If the registration number does not work, check the "About" button on the main menu of Fantasy Commissioner. If it does not say "Fantasy Commissioner 2006", you likely have last seasons version of Fantasy Commissioner. You will need to download the latest demo to get the 2006 version, in which the registration number will work. I have last years version of Fantasy Commissioner Desktop on my computer. Do I need to uninstall it? You can install Fantasy Commissioner 2006 into the same directory as last years version. You do not have to uninstall last years version. However, if you do uninstall last years version, you should not delete your league database from last year, as you can import last years league info into the new league database you create with the new version. The league database is located in the directory where you installed Fantasy Commissioner, and will have the filename of Can I use my league database from last year with the new version of the software? A league database from last year will not work in the new version. You will need to create a new league database in the 2006 version, and then use the "Import League Info" option (on the "League Maintenance" menu) to transfer your league info from last years database to the new league database. When I try to install the software, I get a "Could not initialize installation (CRC)..." This means the download of the software did not complete successfully. Please download the software again and try the installation. If you still have problems, let us know and we can ship you the CD. I downloaded the demo from your web site, but now I can't find it. Right click the "Start" button in Microsoft Windows (located at the bottom of your screen) and choose "Find". Then enter the filename commdemo.exe in the "Named" field. Make sure the "Include subfolders" option is checked. Type in "c:\" in the "Look in" field. Then click the "Find Now" button. When the file commdemo.exe shows up in the list, double-click the file to start the installation. Does you software support having an NFL player on more than one fantasy team? Our software does not support having an NFL player on more than one fantasy team in the same league. You would have to setup a seperate league for each conference. However, there is not a way to schedule games between the different leagues, so you would have to manually track the wins/losses of these games. Or, you could create the outer-division teams in the other league database, put the game in the schedule, and use the "additional points" screen to give the outer-division team the fantasy points they scored for the week. This way, the results would should up on the fantasy standings report. Can I transfer my league info from last years version of the software to this years? You can import all of last years data into this years software by using the "Import League Info" option on the "League Maintenance" menu. I re-installed the software, now when it starts, I do not see any of my league databases. This problem will occur if you installed the upgrade into a different directory that the previous version was installed. Please re-install the upgrade and make sure that during installation you specify the directory of the previous version. My league uses both head-to-head scoring and total points scoring. Does Fantasy Commissioner Support this? If your league includes both head-to-head scoring and total points scoring, it can be supported in Fantasy Commissioner. To do this, choose a "head-to-head" league on the "League Info" screen, and use the "Team Ranking" report to see the overall point leaders, and the "Fantasy Standings" report to see the head-to-head leaders. Can I get the software on a CD? Sorry, because so few people requests CD's anymore, we have discontinued shipping of CD's. This will allow us to keep costs down and therefore allow us to keep the price the same as last year. If your computer has problems downloading large files, or you have a slow connection, we have an option to download the software in seven smaller pieces, so that should solve the problem. The smaller pieces for PEDS are available at http://www.footballsoftware.com/download/pedsdown.html (go to Option 2 on that page). The smaller pieces for Fantasy Commissioner Desktop is at http://www.footballsoftware.com/download/commishdown.html (go to Option 2 on that page). That option is also useful if you wish to install the software on a machine that does not have an Internet connection, as you can copy each of those seven smaller files onto seven disks. Or, if you have a CD burner, you can copy the large demo file onto a CD in order to install the software on the computer without Internet access. If I conducted my draft on my laptop using PEDS, how do I get the results into Fantasy Commissioner Desktop, which is on my desktop computer? If you used a laptop at the draft, after the draft is complete go to the "Database Tools" menu in PEDS and choose "Backup Database" and backup the league database to disk. Then go to your desktop computer and start Fantasy Commissioner. Go to the "Roster Maintenance" screen and choose "Import Rosters from PEDS" and specify the disk. Your PEDS league database should then display on the screen. Double-click it to import the rosters. |
