Company Background:

First Place Sports Software is a software development company located in Spring, TX (a suburb of Houston). It was founded in September of 1994 by James Serra. See James Serra bio.

In February of 1998, our company was incorporated as Fantasy Sports Intelligence, LLC. First Place Sports Software and Fantasy Insights are both divisions of Fantasy Sports Intelligence, LLC.

First Place Sports Software was founded with two goals in mind:

1. To create fantasy football software to help you win your league
2. To create fantasy football software to make it easier for you to run your league

We also have three main priorities for our company:

1. Great Products - We designed our products to be simply to use, yet still contain tons of features. You will find our products have many more features than our competitors.
2. Great Pricing - Our most popular product, Fantasy Commissioner, is one of the lowest priced league management software products, and it is half the cost of the two top-selling competitors.
3. Great Technical Support - Where most of our competitors take days to answer your questions (if at all), we answer all e-mails within 24 hours, and we usually answer each email within a few hours.

We feel that by concentrating on these three priorities, we will draw customers shopping for their first software purchase, draw customers who are dissatisfied with the lack of features, high cost, and poor technical support of our competitors, and most importantly, satisfy our current customers so that they are a customer for life.

Product Background:

Our first product, Player Evaluation and Draft Software (PEDS), was created and beta tested during the 1994 season. It's first release was for the 1995 season. In each succeeding year we have made many enhancements, and in each year our customer base has grown tremendously. For the upcoming season, our seventh version of the product, we have again made many enhancements and expect many more fantasy football owners to use PEDS to help them have a very successful year.

We also created a program to continue where PEDS left off. It is called Fantasy Coach and it was also first released for the 1995 season. And just like PEDS, in each succeeding year we have made many enhancements, and in each year our customer base has grown tremendously. Many owners purchased both PEDS and Fantasy Coach in order to have an edge on their opponents all season long.

Many of our customers mentioned to us that they where disappointed with the current league management software products available (and the high cost), and requested that we create a league management product. So, we created Fantasy Commissioner Desktop. To make sure we had a stable product that had all of the needed features, we beta tested it during the whole 1996 season. It was released for the 1997 season and has become our most popular product. We made many enhancements in each of the succeding seasons based on customer requests, and we will continue to make enhancements each year so that Fantasy Commissioner Desktop continues to be a great product for managing your league.

Since more and more people are getting on the Internet, we decided to create a web version of Fantasy Commissioner, called Fantasy Commissioner Web. The Internet is the perfect medium for this type of product. The web version will make the commissioner's job even easier, as well as allow each owner access to more information and to make it easier to submit lineups and pickup free agents. We beta tested the web version during the 1999 season, and had hundreds of leagues use it for the 2000 season and have had thousand of leagues use it since the 2001 season. We plan on making many enhancements each season.
