Titans reach 3-year deal with LB Witherspoon

(3/10/10 5:59 PM EST)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have agreed to a three-year contract with Will Witherspoon as they revamp revamping their linebacking corps.

The $11 million deal was announced Wednesday. General manager Mike Reinfeldt says Witherspoon likely will play outside linebacker.

Tennessee's two outside linebackers from 2009 were David Thornton, recovering from shoulder and pectoral surgery, and Keith Bulluck, an unrestricted free agent coming off a torn ACL.

Witherspoon was released by the Philadelphia Eagles last week after being acquired from St. Louis in a trade last October.
